Can Family breakfast replace Family dinner

We all know the importance of 'sitting down as a family' once a week to eat dinner. But let's face it, we all started it with great heart and enthusiasm and then Child number 1 starts dance class, child number 2 gets into the footie A team and then child number 3 decides brownies can't possibly survive without them. These 'essential' activities take over every week day, with not even a 20 minute slot where everyone is home and hungry at the same time.
So, we devised a new way of all 'catching up'. Breakfast. Not everyday, obviously, Child number 1 has to get the school bus early on wednesdays' for D of E meetings ( or so he says), Child Number 2 has to get the bus with the new girl, as she doesn't know anyone yet ( or so he says), and Child number 3 can't get out of bed in the morning as she's so hyped up about Brownie camp and can't sleep at night.
But there is always Sunday morning. Even Child number 2's A team footie match doesn't kick off till 11am- so plenty of 'family' time available. The tables laid. the 'full monty' ( that's full english, not male strippers!!) cooked and warming in the oven, the juice, pumped and 'bits free', the choice of breads, pancakes, muffins and 'rolls' laid out in all thei glory.
Slowly the unignorable aroma of 'hot rolls' wafts up the stairs and the family arrive, like zombies. As they sit at the table there's not much talking or 'interaction' between each other. The plates fill up with sausages, bacon, toast and 'runny' eggs, and the mouths begin devouring the repast. It takes a while but soon the food kicks in, the eyes light up and finally, we are all awake. Chatter takes over and the banter begins. The weeks 'catch up' is on and we spend the next 45 mins all taking turns telling our stories.
Then all too soon it's time to go again. Is it worth all the washing-up- well what do you think ??
