School holidays- heaven or hell ?

So the 6 weeks holiday is finally over, The kids have gone back to, started school or in some cases gone off to Uni. Finally you can get back into your 'routine'. That first day of freedom is bliss. Don't have to spend the morning tiptoing over the pile of board games ( which become necessary when the weather is bad- most of the time then!!), break up squabbling siblings or squabbling friends ( spending too much time together on board games maybe). The sofa's free and the kitchen isn't covered with flour, eggshells and burnt fairy cakes ( interacting with the children, always a big mistake).
The morning passes in a calm, composed manner, a leisurely lunch, chat to a friend on skype, bit of afternoon telly and then before you know it, the school pick up. Pretty soon the house is full again, with tales of new teachers, new friends, old friends, new rivalrys and wondering why old rivals were ever rivals. Brownies begins, football training starts up, school drama, streetdance, table tennis. Pick up, drop off, sports kit, ballet shoes, football shoes, snacks, water bottles, the list goes on and on.
As you lay in bed at night you yearn for the days of board games and spending all day in your PJ's!!!
