Holiday's Lovely Holidays

So I have just spent 10 days in Turkey with the 15yr old, as the 10yr old girl child went to Turkey with her dad and the new girlfriend ( sorry , make that 'soulmate'!!). Decided on returning to the same hotel as last year as familiarity seemed comforting. Softly, softly with the sun exposure, skin turned a golden brown over the first few days- the 15yr old however thought the opposite and peeled. As there was just the two of us, we ventured out to the 'Blue Lagoon', where the sand wasnt really sand , more like pebbles- sorry, boiling hot pebbles. The sea was stunningly clear and calm and great fun to swim in. They had a raft tethered a way out , which became the focal point of our beach day. Swimming out made you feel like you'd done a workout, catching the rays on the raft felt nice and cooling, and diving in- or in my case jumping, was cool ( well maybe I wasnt !!).
I managed to rise every morning for the buffet breakfast, which seemed to have improved on last years- not hard to improve on roughly cut bread, boiled eggs and a slice or two of watermelon. The 15yr old did not!! Every night we took a photo over dinner, and in every photo I look my usual lopsided, grumpy self. I have a terrible photo face. I read 8 books, he read 5.
Gave up with the hair on day 2, and spent the last 8 days with it in rather fetching pigtails ( or at least I thought they were rather fetching- not sure anyone else did). The nights were spent flicking between boiling hot, no air con, freezing cold, air con. The flight back was delayed an hour, so arrived home at 3am, in cold drizzly UK weather. I since found out that the day we flew out UK weather changed to temperatures in the 30's, we arrive back and it's cold and grey skies.
Will I be doing the same next year- You betcha !!!
